Bocaranga Displaced People's Relief #7865

CAR

Over 1,500 families in the northwest region of the Central African Republic (CAR) have fled to the town of Bocaranga for safety from violent attacks by Muslim herders. This is a very strong district among the 25 that comprise the Charis Alliance Church in the CAR. But after seven years of receiving and generously serving these families, the churches in Bocaranga have asked for help. They are overwhelmed. As of December 2023, your generosity is funding the construction of 50 brick homes for families planning to make Bocaranga their permanent residence. This includes land parcels and latrines for each home. This project (#7865) will continue supplying other needs to help make life more bearable for these families by providing:

  • Tarps and grass mats to each of the 500 families who are sleeping in temporary grass shelters - $100 per family x 500 families = $50,000
  • Land, seed, and tools for family gardens: all Central Africans are farmers, so gardens will allow them to grow food to use to feed their families and earn income for other needs that farming can’t supply = $25,000
  • A well with a foot pump for the camp = $25,000
  • Trauma care for those who continue to struggle to heal from the violence and loss they have experienced = $10,000
  • On-going relief supplies. The attacks continue, the most recent killing over 20 people in December 2023. This has brought a fresh wave of families fleeing to Bocaranga for safety, most with only the clothes on their backs.

Any amount you can give will help. Thank you for your partnership in blessing these families who are in deep need.
